The Indonesian Art Auction Viewing Days are starting on Sunday 20 November! Alongside the exhibition of all artworks present in the auction, we would also like to invite you for a book signing with writer
Jan Brokken at Venduehuis The Hague.

This prolific writer has very recently published a new book, “De Kampschilders” (The Internment Camp Painters). In this book, the writer tells the story of his father, who met artists like Willem Hofker and Rudolf Bonnet in these internment camps. He describes the rich Balinese culture, the painters who were inspired by it and how art can bring hope in the darkest of times.

Surrounded by paintings by the aforementioned artists, Jan Brokken will sign his book for you on this day. Of course, you are more than welcome to visit the exhibition as well, with a rich collection of artwork from Indonesia, the former Dutch East Indies and other areas in the Far East. You will encounter works by artists such as
