Valuation Day for Indonesian Art and Antiques at Museum Sophiahof
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Venduehuis The Hague and Museum Sophiahof are organizing a valuation day at Museum Sophiahof in The Hague. This event is part of the preparations for the Indonesian Art Auction, which will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
During the valuation day, Venduehuis The Hague will bring together a team of expert appraisers, including Chris Vellinga, Marjolein Regout, Andrew Mattijssen, and Frans Leidelmeijer (known from the TV program Tussen Kunst en Kitsch). They will assess objects in various categories, such as paintings, ethnographic items, porcelain, ceramics, and silver.
We are particularly interested in works by artists such as Willem Gerard Hofker, Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merprès, Srihadi Soedarsono, Arie Smit, Isaac Israels, Roland Strasser, and Lee Man Fong. In addition, we are looking for Balinese sculptures, colonial and antique Indonesian or Asian silver, and tribal art.
The valuation day will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Sophia Hall at Museum Sophiahof.
Valuations will only be conducted by appointment. Do you own Indonesian art or antiques you’d like to have appraised? Simply schedule an appointment via the Venduehuis The Hague website.
