Auction results December

During this festive month, our auction season closed with our Winter Auctions! Almost 1.500 lots were on offer in five different auctions, including books, prints, jewellery, watches, silver, Asian arts and porcelain, antique and design furniture and decorative art. The result of this successful auction week was more than € 2 million.

The auction week started with our Books & Prints auction, where nice prices were fetched by a 17th-century map of Holland which was sold for € 3.000 and an aquatint of Amsterdam by Willem van Senus which was sold for € 1.300, among others.

On Tuesday 12 December, two different auctions ended: the Exclusive Jewellery auction in the morning and the Exclusive Silver auction in the evening.

The Exclusive Jewellery offered a wonderful collection of jewellery and watches. Some highlights include a 18k gold necklace with diamonds (sold for € 81.000), a 18k gold necklace with sapphire by Bulgari (sold for € 16.000) and a 18k gold gentlemen’s watch with planetarium by Christiaan van der Klaauw (sold for € 13.000).

Later that day, the Exclusive Silver auction offered highlights such as a large cruet set in basket, sold for € 8.000, and two Tiffany&Co vases, which were sold for € 2.600 each.

This was followed by the Arts of the East: Asian Ceramics & Works of Art auction, which featured Asian porcelain and art. The category Asian porcelain was headed by a large blue and white baluster vase with cover (sold for € 9.000), while the category Asian art boasts a thangka depicting Dharmatala, which sold for € 19.000.

The auction week closed with the Home & Interiors: Antique Furniture & Design, Ceramics & Decorative Art auction. A large KPM Berlin porcelain lidded potpourri vase was much beloved by bidders and fetched € 50.000. Other highlights included a sculpture of a young woman by Cesare Lapini (sold for € 20.000), a pair of patinated bronze groups of the Four Seasons, attributed to François Ladatte (sold for € 9.000) and an extensive Meissen porcelain ornithological tea and coffee service (sold for € 12.000).
